Talent meets timing.
I've been on your side of the table.
Before I started First Light, I spent years as a product manager - writing specs, running sprints, sitting in hiring loops, and learning firsthand what it actually takes to build a great engineering team. I know what a strong senior engineer looks like in a technical screen. I know what kills team velocity when a PM hire doesn't land. I know the difference between a candidate who interviews well and one who will still be there two years later.
That experience is what I bring to every search.
Why I do this
Recruiting in tech is broken in a predictable way. Most firms send volume, hope something sticks, and move on. Candidates get ghosted. Hiring managers get buried in resumes that don't quite fit. Everyone's time gets wasted.
I started First Light because I wanted to do it differently - carefully, and with real context for the work.
I take a small number of searches at a time so I can do each one properly. That means getting to know your team and culture before I source anyone. It means talking to candidates like a person, not a pipeline. And it means being honest with both sides when something isn't the right fit.
What you can expect
When you work with me, you work with me. Not a coordinator, not a junior associate - me. I source, I screen, I present, and I stay with you through the close. You'll always know where the search stands, and I'll tell you what I'm hearing from the market even when it's not what you were hoping to hear.
My background means I can have real conversations with engineering candidates - about system design, about how they think about tradeoffs, about what kind of team they do their best work on. And it means I understand your roadmap well enough to know who will actually move it forward
Let's talk
If you're hiring in tech or engineering, or if you're a candidate looking for your next role, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
